Eric Schneiderman has resigned as New York attorney general, USA Today’s Jon Campbell reports.
The news follows an article in the New Yorker Monday that accused Schneiderman of physically assaulting four women during sexual encounters.
In a statement, Schneiderman—who had positioned himself as a rising star in the Democratic Party, poised to lead a legal fight against Donald Trump—said is was his “great honor and privilege” to serve New York.
