Kellyanne Conway comes unglued on CNN host -- and says calling out Trump's lies hurts his ratings

Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway on Wednesday came unglued on CNN host John Berman after he called out President Donald Trump for repeatedly lying to the American people.

After Berman pointed out that someone in the White House had obviously lied about Trump having no involvement in crafting a misleading statement about the infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and Russian nationals, Conway angrily lashed out for claiming that her boss had been dishonest.

"Respectfully, I don't think this has helped CNN," said an angry Conway. "Your ratings are way down because -- I know I hit a nerve there, John, but let's be fair -- you like to say 'lie' and 'the president' and 'Sarah [Huckabee Sanders]' in the same sentence. Excuse me, this is not benefiting you. You're not getting new viewers who want to hear this junk and this funk."

Conway then challenged Berman to prove that Russia had altered votes at the ballot box in 2016 to show they helped Trump get elected -- which was a claim that Berman never once asserted during his interview.

Conway then pivoted from that to attacking former Democratic rival Hillary Clinton -- which seemed to flabbergast Berman.

"I didn't ask about Hillary Clinton!" he said.

"If you're talking about the 2016 election, you are!" said a defiant Conway.
