MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace was shocked at the idea that Republicans on Capitol Hill seem to think that the migrant crisis is over.
NBC News reporter Julia Ainsley explained that the sense of urgency and fervor has "cooled" for the moment.
"We haven't heard as much from them since the executive order was signed, Nicolle, they were already in an uncomfortable position of attacking the president for one of his policies," Ainsley said. "But we need people to stay on this, like you're staying on this story, and continue to ask these questions, because you can't just let 2,300 children disappear because they happen to come into this country in between two dates that happened to have one of the toughest policies that we've ever seen."
That's when Wallace went off on the absurdity of the idea the scandal is over.
"That is the dumbest -- Republicans have lost their minds!" she exclaimed. "That is the dumbest analysis of a scandal I've ever heard. It started yesterday when he admitted it was too stupid even for him. The scandal started yesterday! It didn't end! What is wrong with them?"
Former Rep. David Jolly (R-FL) agreed, saying many of the people in the United States don't even realize how all of this happened and how it was brought about by the White House.
