Former National Security Council spokesman Michael Anton was scheduled to speak with CNN's Erin Burnett on her Monday episode of "Out Front" but canceled the "long-scheduled" appearance.
According to CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins, the reason was that Anton confessed he simply couldn't defend what President Donald Trump said in the joint press conference with Vladimir Putin.

"Michael Anton was going to be here ... he canceled, and he knows I'm going to tell you this, because he said he could not defend the president on his actions today," said Burnett as she announced her political panel.
