Michael Avenatti, the attorney representing Stormy Daniels, said Wednesday that he would run against Donald Trump in 2020 if he doesn't think another candidate can defeat the president.

“IF (big) he seeks re-election, I will run, but only if I think that there is no other candidate in the race that has a REAL chance at beating him. We can't relive 2016. I love this country, our values and our people too much to sit by while they are destroyed. #FightClub #Basta,“ Avenatti tweeted.

Since becoming Daniels' attorney, Avenatti has become a persistent critic of Trump and his longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

Daniels is suing Cohen to invalidate a hush money agreement over her alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006.
