In a bizarre turn of events, the Russian embassy in the UK issued a warning to Russian nationals traveling in the country. Avoid the British secret service, the odd advisory warned.

"Advice to Russian citizens: when planning trips to #Stonehenge and #Salisbury, consider the risk of unwittingly drawing attention of British secret services struggling to produce evidence of Russian involvement in #Skripal poisoning."

"This world is insane," Mother Jones reporter Shane Bauer tweeted in response, aptly capturing the James Bond-like plot twist.
