White House reporters baffled by Trump's 'odd' and 'unusual' behavior on Labor Day

White House reporters on Monday were at a loss to explain why President Donald Trump boarded his motorcade, but then went back inside minutes later.

The reporters were apparently alerted that Trump would have an outing on Labor Day. But that outing never happened.

There was some speculation that the "odd" event was a sign that it was too hot to golf.

After Trump walked back into the residence, the White House declared a lid -- meaning it would have no more news to announce for the day.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders later commented on the ordeal.
