Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee took the unusual step of releasing a statement about the sex life of one of Brett Kavanaugh's accusers — and included claims from her ex-boyfriend that she enjoys group sex.

The Daily Beast reported that the letter, released by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), contains claims from former weatherman Dennis Ketterer, ex-boyfriend to Kavanaugh accuser Julie Swetnick.

In the letter, Ketterer wrote that he doesn't believe Swetnick's accusation that Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge facilitated her gang or "train" rape because she "liked to have sex with more than one guy at a time."

The former DC-area weatherman and one-time Democratic congressional candidate said his conclusions were "based on my direct experience with Julie."

During a rally in Mississippi held hours after the committee released the letter, President Donald Trump referenced Swetnick without naming her by citing the "gang-rape" allegation and saying it had been debunked.
