Conservative commentator S.E. Cupp on Friday tore into President Donald Trump for using his Thanksgiving call with military officers to score political points by attacking the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
While discussing Trump's call with the troops in which he aired grievances about both the Ninth Circuit and undocumented immigrants, Cupp said it was sadly a part of a predictable pattern in the president's behavior.
"The fact that the president would use the military on a special holiday to score political points is appalling, but it is not surprising," she said. "His perspective of the military is like everyone else at his disposal: To be used, to be used for his advantage. We saw that with the deployment of troops to the border unnecessarily before an important election. We see the president's disregard for the military in refusing to honor them at Veterans Day in Arlington."
Later in the segment, Cupp trashed the president for his reaction to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi by Saudi government officials -- and she said it sent a signal to other governments that they could get away with murdering journalists as long as they bought enough weapons from American companies.
"That's effectively putting a bounty on the heads of a lot of journalists," she said.
