First Lady Melania Trump's spokesperson insisted on Monday that the first lady has not sought Michelle Obama's advice because she wants to serve the American people "in her own way."
During an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts this week, Obama revealed that she offered advice to Trump after she assumed the role of first lady. But Obama said that the new first lady never reached out.
Stephanie Grisham, the spokesperson for Melania Trump, explained why the new first lady had decided not to contact Obama.
"Mrs. Trump is a strong and independent woman who has been navigating her role as First Lady in her own way," Grisham said on Monday. "When she needs advice on any issue, she seeks it from her professional team within the White House.”
