Mira Ricardel fired as deputy national security advisor after being slammed by Melania Trump: report
Mira Ricardel, an advisor to National Security Advisor John Bolton, has been fired, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The reported firing comes shortly after First Lady Melania Trump released a statement on Tuesday saying Ricardel no longer deserved to work in the White House.
The first lady reportedly complained to the president that the deputy national security advisor had mistreated her.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Ricardel feuded with Melania Trump during the first lady’s recent trip to Africa.
The first lady’s staff “battled with Ms. Ricardel during the first lady’s trip to Africa last month over seating on the plane and requests to use National Security Council resources,” the newspaper said.
The Wall Street Journal initially reported that Ricardel had been escorted from the White House. However, the publication later said that she hadn’t been removed from the building.
“Of all the dramas and all the shakeups here at the White House…this certainly is an unusual one … The President has made the decision to remove and indeed fire” deputy national security adviser Mira Ricardel, CNN’s @jeffzeleny reports. https://t.co/27VrXttLHP pic.twitter.com/HxZysP5v51# p #7_9 # ad skipped = true #
