An aggrieved President Donald Trump on Monday took to Twitter to complain about Democrats in the House of Representatives conducting oversight of his administration.

In particular, the president noted that the major stock indexes all opened down on Monday morning, and he went on to make baseless accusations that the threat of Democratic oversight was causing the markets to drop.

"The prospect of Presidential Harassment by the Dems is causing the Stock Market big headaches!" Trump wrote.

House Democrats will gain subpoena power in January when they come to Congress with a majority. The Democrats reportedly have a list of dozens of Trump scandals they want to investigate, and have until now seen their subpoena requests blocked by House Republicans.

Among other things, Democrats may pursue investigations into Trump’s tax returns, which he has refused to release for years despite promising to do so; whether Trump’s businesses got special favors from the Chinese government, including Ivanka Trump getting awarded trademarks during trade negotiations; the administration’s policy of separating immigrant parents from their children at the border; and the administration’s response to Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
