President Donald Trump is slated to meet up with Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi next week while looking for his next top law enforcement officer.

McClatchy reported that a source close to the president told the media outlet that Trump will meet with Bondi — considered to be one of the members of his attorney general shortlist — while he's in Florida visiting his Mar-a-Lago resort for Thanksgiving.

Bondi, the report noted, cannot run for Florida AG after her second term ends and has long been considered a contender for U.S. attorney general due to her role as a Trump campaign surrogate in 2016.

In 2017, the president appointed Bondi to his Opioid and Drug Abuse Commission that's chaired by former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
