Trump's lawyers 'have a good idea' of what Mueller is going to find — and are already preparing a report to rebut it

An AWOL Rudy Giuliani is reportedly working with other members of Donald Trump's legal team on a report that will rebut special counsel Robert Mueller's findings about the president and Russia's electoral interference.

Vanity Fair's Gabe Sherman spoke to three sources briefed on the president's legal team who said Giuliani has been "visiting consulting clients" in Europe.

He's also working on the report with Marty and Jane Raskin, the husband-and-wife lawyers who also are on team Trump.

"They don’t know what Mueller has," a Republican close to Giuliani told Sherman, "but they have a good idea and they’re going to rebut it."

Another source told Vanity Fair that the former NYC mayor-turned-Trump-lawyer has been MIA on the president's orders because he doesn't want Giuliani to hurt his "midterm message."

"Trump’s thinking is, ‘I gave you a lot of rope and now you got a lot of rope marks around your neck,’" the source told Sherman.
