The host of the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Monday hilariously defended President Donald Trump for skipping tributes to United States veterans.
“The president was in Paris this weekend for the 100th anniversary of the Armistice Day and was scheduled to pay his respects at a U.S. military cemetery,” Colbert noted.
“These soldiers fought tirelessly through brutal conditions, so of course, Trump canceled his trip to the cemetery due to rain,” he continued.
But the late-night host tried to defend Trump’s decision.
“Well, you can’t blame him,” Colbert argued, before offering an uproarious rationalization for Trump’s “faux sas in Paris.”
