Trump has no idea how bad a Dem Congress will be for him -- and 'he's all alone': MSNBC panel

An MSNBC panel on Wednesday warned President Donald Trump that he has no idea what he's in for when Democrats take over the House of Representatives next year.

Texas Tribune Washington bureau chief Abby Livingston told MSNBC's Hallie Jackson that Trump is still behaving as though he will have a Republican House of Representatives that will cover for his every move -- but she said that just won't be the case come January 3rd.

"Nancy Pelosi's going to take the Speaker's gavel in about a week," she said. "On top of that, you have subpoenas on the House side. But these vacancies -- whether the cabinet official left on their own merit or Trump fired them or they're leaving because of malfeasance -- this means their would-be successors are going to have to testify in front of the Senate. We're going to have grievances aired in the other direction from the Democrats in both chambers and Trump does not seem to realize what is coming.

Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank similarly said that Trump seems to be clueless when it comes to how he will deal with a Democratic Congress.

"The whole world is about to change for him," Milbank said. "And he's all alone."
