President Donald Trump went off on an unhinged rant about Michael Cohen in a Thursday interview with Fox News, saying special counsel Robert Mueller was using Cohen to embarrass him.
“What happened is either Cohen or the prosecutors, in order to embarrass me, said ‘listen — I’m making this deal for reduced time and everything else, do me a favor, put these two charges on,'” Trump told host Harris Faulkner, opening the floodgates. “Let me tell you — I never directed him to do anything wrong.”
Trump insisted that Cohen, and only Cohen, was to blame for paying off pornography performer Stormy Daniels and the president’s other mistresses, and added that he was dragged into it by overzealous prosecutors.
“He did some bad things: income tax evasion, I heard about taxi cab medallions, I heard about a lot of things,” Trump said. “I’m not reading about any of that stuff, because what he did, he made a deal to embarrass me. In order to embarrass me, they cut his term down.”
Trump speculated, without evidence, that Cohen turned on him to keep his wife and father-in-law out of prison.
“How many people when they say ‘listen, if you embarrass the president of the United States, we will give you a deal. Your father-in-law, your wife, we’ll cut your jail.’ That’s all it is,” Trump said. “It’s terrible system. It’s going on right now with General Flynn. The FBI says he didn’t lie.”

Ex-GOPer wallops ‘spineless’ Kevin McCarthy for giving Trump a free pass while condemning Steve King’s racism
Appearing on MSNBC's "AM Joy" with fill-in host Ayman Mohyeldin, former Rep. Dave Jolly (R-FL) had nothing but contempt for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for harshly criticizing Rep. Steve King (R-IA) for his racist comments -- among other things he has said -- but ignoring similar sentiments from Donald Trump.
With King under major fire from many in his own party over recent comments where he seemed to approve of rape and incest, Jolly called out McCarthy in particular for being selective about who he is willing to criticize.
"Is he simply defending the president to the hilt because he doesn't believe the president's comments are as racist as others have criticized them to be?" host Mohyeldin asked.
Trump’s ‘oceanic ignorance’ has plunged the world into chaos and the US may never recover: NYT columnist
On Saturday, New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg blasted President Donald Trump's foreign policy, saying that it was causing the world to "spiral into chaos."
"All over the world, things are getting worse," wrote Goldberg. "China appears to be weighing a Tiananmen Square-like crackdown in Hong Kong. After I spoke to [Pakistani ambassador Assad Majeed] Khan, hostilities between India and Pakistan ratcheted up further; on Thursday, fighting across the border in Kashmir left three Pakistani soldiers dead ... Turkey is threatening to invade Northeast Syria to go after America’s Kurdish allies there, and it’s not clear if an American agreement meant to prevent such an incursion will hold."
Ex-Tea Party lawmaker perfectly nails why Trump is going down in 2020
On Saturday, former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) tweeted the simple reason he believes President Donald Trump will lose his bid for re-election in 2020:
Trump will lose in 2020 because the vast majority of America is tired of him. Tired of his bullshit. Tired of his drama. Just plain tired of him.
