President Donald Trump unleashed a rant on Twitter Tuesday, raging at Democrats in an effort to secure support for a wall along the Mexican border.

Trump said that he would have the United States military build a wall, but it was unclear how he would fund it or whether it would be legal to have the military conduct operations on U.S. soil.

"People do not yet realize how much of the Wall, including really effective renovation, has already been built. If the Democrats do not give us the votes to secure our Country, the Military will build the remaining sections of the Wall. They know how important it is," he said.

In the 2016 campaign, Trump said that he had a secret plan to have Mexico pay for the wall. Mexico has refused.

Trump's party has had the majority in every branch of government for the last two years but was unable to broker a deal to fund the wall.
