On Friday, President Donald Trump agreed to a deal that would reopen government after 35 days.

The president wasn't able to convince Democrats to release funds for the construction of a border wall.

On CNN Friday, panelists generally agreed that the deal was a major victory for Democrats.

"He caved," they observed, walking away from the negotiating table "without a penny" to build a wall across the Southwest border.
