MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace breaks down how Donald Trump’s ‘terrible week just got worse’

Published

on

As President Donald Trump tours the southern border to push his wall, his political woes continued to grow as Nicolle Wallace explained on MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House” on Thursday.

“We will get to Donald Trump’s crisis and trip to the border — they didn’t want to take — in a minute, but breaking news this hour, Donald Trump’s terrible week just got worse,” she explained.

“His one-time fixer and personal lawyer Michael Cohen will testify in public before the House Oversight Committee on February 7th — that’s four weeks from today,” she noted.

“Remember, Michael Cohen is the man who claims that Donald Trump directed an illegal hush money scheme in the months before the election to pay off women he had relationships with,” Wallace continued.

Nick Confessore, political reporter for The New York Times, added his thoughts on the importance of the hearing.

“To speak in the president’s language, it’s going to be ‘yuge’ this year,” he joked. “It’s going to have blockbuster ratings because everyone wants to hear what Cohen has to say in public.”

“This could be a stage for him to spill his guts,” Confessore said.

‘Beyond insane’: CNN’s Ana Navarro buries impotent GOP as Trump descends into ‘messianic’ madness

Published

on

During a very lively CNN "New Day" panel, regular contributor Ana Navarro expressed disgust at the Republican Party for standing by while Donald Trump appears to be unraveling.

Responding to a report in the New York Times that claimed aides to the president are growing more and more concerned with the Trump's state of mind, Navarro said that same concern is spread outside of the U.S. too.

"We had a debate earlier in the program about whether or not the president at this point is just messing with everyone," host Alisyn Camerota prompted. "He's calling himself the 'chosen one.' He's suggesting he's the messiah. He seems to be enjoying this moment of rhetorical madness or Mr. Toad's Wild Ride -- do you see something else happening here?"

Former Tea Party congressman and Trump-supporter-turned-never-Trumper may announce 2020 presidential run

Published

A same-party primary challenge against a sitting president is not unheard of. Five members of a sitting president’s party would be extraordinary.

Currently, only former Massachusetts governor Bill Weld has officially declared he is running for the Republican nomination for president.

But as The Washington Post just reported, there are four more Republicans in the wings, “inching” closer to declaring their candidacies.

Is it Trump’s god-complex or God’s Trump-complex? Either way Trump and Jehovah have an awful lot in common

Published

People have been scratching their heads about how so many “family values” American voters who claim to love Jesus can follow Donald Trump. What ever happened to love thy neighbor, and if you have two coats give one to the poor, and turn the other cheek, and feed my lambs, and the meek shall inherit the Earth?  Some horrified Christian leaders have gone so far as to say a person can’t be a Christian and a Trump supporter.
