As President Donald Trump tours the southern border to push his wall, his political woes continued to grow as Nicolle Wallace explained on MSNBC's "Deadline: White House" on Thursday.

"We will get to Donald Trump's crisis and trip to the border -- they didn't want to take -- in a minute, but breaking news this hour, Donald Trump's terrible week just got worse," she explained.

"His one-time fixer and personal lawyer Michael Cohen will testify in public before the House Oversight Committee on February 7th -- that's four weeks from today," she noted.

"Remember, Michael Cohen is the man who claims that Donald Trump directed an illegal hush money scheme in the months before the election to pay off women he had relationships with," Wallace continued.

Nick Confessore, political reporter for The New York Times, added his thoughts on the importance of the hearing.

"To speak in the president's language, it's going to be 'yuge' this year," he joked. "It's going to have blockbuster ratings because everyone wants to hear what Cohen has to say in public."

"This could be a stage for him to spill his guts," Confessore said.
