House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer urged President Donald Trump yet again to reopen the government.

During a White House meeting, Trump declined to open the government as swiftly as possible.

According to a source familiar with the meeting, Pelosi and Schumer asked the president to stop the shutdown by Tuesday, and Trump declined to do that.

Vice President Mike Pence floated the idea of staff negotiations through the weekend.
