Investigators working for the Senate Intelligence Committee have obtained "records" showing Donald Trump Jr.'s mysterious phone calls ahead of the infamous Trump Tower meeting were not to his father, CNN reported Thursday.

Citing three sources, the Republican-lead committee reportedly has evidence the president's son was talking to business associates, though CNN has not confirmed their identities.

Before Democrats won control of the House of Representatives in the midterm elections, House Intelligence Chair Devin Nunes had blocked efforts by Democrats to subpoena the phone records.
