MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace said that Republicans are “checkmated” after special counsel Robert Mueller concluded his investigations and submitted his report to Attorney General Bill Barr.
“Nicole, do you think that Democrats can sit and say the Mueller report didn’t have what we wanted, but wait until SDNY or wait to Congress or do you think do you think there’s a point they have to be careful here politically?” Chuck Todd asked.
“I don’t think Democrats are in the box. I think Republicans have been checkmated,” Wallace replied.
Prior to her career in journalism, Wallace served as communications director in the George W. Bush White House
“I think Republicans are going to have to look at a report from Mueller which is very likely to detail conduct they screamed at the top of their lungs when it was Bill Clinton that it was obstruction of justice,” she explained.
“They’re older than dirt so they were all there with more hair,” she added.
“I think Republicans are the ones in a box today. Republicans will have to decide in the coming days and weeks if they give a you-know-what about corruption,” Wallace concluded.
Morning Joe hilariously compares Trump 2020 to Elvis in 1977: ‘Lumbering across the stage, trying to sing the old hits’
MSNBC's Joe Scarborough compared President Donald Trump's 2020 campaign kickoff to Elvis Presley concerts in the months before the past-his-prime rock legend died from a heart attack.
The president treated his supporters at Orlando's Amway Center to a revue of his "greatest hits" -- attacking Hillary Clinton, immigrants, existing trade deals, the Washington "swamp" -- and the "Morning Joe" host said his act had grown stale and tired.
"I mean no disrespect to the king of rock 'n' roll, but this is Elvis in '77, just kind of lumbering across the stage, sweating," Scarborough said.
WATCH: Katie Porter explains to constituents why her conscience demands support for Trump impeachment inquiry
Congresswoman Katie Porter, in a video posted on social media Monday night, shared with residents of her purple California district why she is joining dozens of other Democrats who support launching an impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump.
"I didn't come to Congress to impeach the president," said the first-term representative. "But when faced with a crisis of this magnitude, I cannot with a clean conscience ignore my duty to defend the Constitution. I can't claim to be committed to rooting out corruption and putting people over politics and then not apply those same principles and standards in all of the work I do."
Rick Wilson hilariously ridicules the ‘formal flip-flops’ and ‘dress cargo pants’ worn by Florida Trump supporters
Republican strategist Rick Wilson mocked the attire of the Donald Trump supporters who were bused in from around Florida for his official campaign kickoff in Orlando.
Wilson, a Florida man himself, joined MSNBC's Brian Williams for post-rally analysis on "The 11th Hour."
Williams played a clip of a Trump supporter with sleeveless Trump T-shirt identifying her as a "proud member of the basket of deplorables" explaining why she'll vote to re-elect the president in 2020.
"The main reason? Because he’s one of the best presidents we’ve had for a very long time," the woman argued. "Very long time."
