According to the San Francisco Gate, a man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat used a sword to attack a skater outside of a local roller rink.

The report states the assault happened Friday night after the skater reportedly tried to grab the hat leading to a bloody skirmish.

According to witness David Miles, “I came outside. The guy was cut, he was bleeding like you wouldn’t believe. He was just gushing blood, so we got the first aid kit from inside and tried to stop the bleeding.”

Miles later posted pictures to his Facebook account showing a bloody sidewalk and the hat on the ground.

Another witness claimed that he heard the attacker — who has not been apprehended — yelling homophobic slurs before the fight began.

“In my mind I didn’t think it was a real sword until we came out later and police were on the scene and there was blood and the hat on the ground,” witness Scott Sweeny said.

According to police, the victim, whose name was not released, was bleeding from the hand when they arrived before he was sent off for medical assistance.

Police state they are searching security footage in order to find the assailant who fled the scene before they arrived.
