Ty Cobb, an attorney who previously served as White House counsel for President Donald Trump, tells ABC News that he thinks President Donald Trump is wrong to attack special counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation.
In particular, Cobb called Mueller an "American hero" and he said that "I don't feel the investigation is a witch hunt."
However, Cobb also believes that Mueller's probe will not find that Trump or his campaign conspired with Russian agents to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.
"There's no link to Trump or the campaign," Cobb insisted. "The same thing with Manafort -- they just filed an 800-page sentencing memorandum, and in 800 pages there's no reference to collusion."
During his tenure at the White House, Cobb had preached patience with the Russia probe and had urged Trump against publicly attacking Mueller. However, Trump decided to take a more aggressive stance against the special counsel last year, and Cobb subsequently stopped representing the White House.
