Democrat leaders said that they might hold an empty chair in Attorney General William Barr's place if he refuses to show up to his Congressional hearing.

Barr threatened not to show up to the hearing, claiming he did not like the format of the questioning.

“Barr has warned Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee he won’t show up to this week’s highly anticipated hearing if they stick to the format the chairman has proposed for the questioning, according to a committee source with knowledge of the matter," a report from CNN stated.

House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) is threatening to subpoena Barr over his summary of special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

CNN reporter Manu Raju said that there has been no progress made.

"Dems may hold a hearing with an empty chair if Barr doesn’t show. No progress made today - including over Dem efforts to get full Mueller report," he tweeted.
