Ivanka Trump was reportedly one of the 25 Trump administration officials who was granted security clearance despite being deemed unfit by career professionals.

One source tells CNN national security senior correspondent Alexander Marquardt that Ivanka Trump was among the administration officials who were flagged for having "serious disqualifying issues" that should have barred them from getting clearance.

Earlier reports have indicated that President Donald Trump had to personally intervene to ensure that Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, were granted security clearance over the objections of officials at the White House Personnel Security Office.

Whistleblower Tricia Newbold told the House Oversight and Reform Committee last month about a systematic breakdown in the White House security clearance process.

Specifically, Newbold claimed that she flagged 25 different officials who were granted security clearance over the objections of career professionals. A memo written by congressional aides stated that the individuals flagged by Newbold “had a wide range of serious disqualifying issues involving foreign influence, conflicts of interest, concerning personal conduct, financial problems, drug use, and criminal conduct.”
