Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Wednesday called into a Fox News broadcast to bash Chris Wallace, who has long served as the network's top hard news anchor, for showing insufficient fealty to President Donald Trump.

As the Daily Beast reports, Ingraham took issue with Wallace's characterization of Attorney General William Barr's actions surrounding special counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

"I think Bill Barr's going to get roasted today by the Democrats, and the Republicans are going to have to do some rehabilitation to try to restore him," Wallace said of his expectations for Wednesday's Senate hearing.

Wallace then went through a timeline of Barr's actions and the ways in which he at the very least misled Congress about Mueller's report.

Minutes later, Ingraham called in to trash Wallace for his accurate description of Barr's actions.

"I know Chris Wallace at the top of your hour was indicating that I guess that he kind of agrees with these other cable networks that this was an attempt by the DOJ to spin what the conversation was between Barr and Mueller," Ingraham said. "So I don’t know if Chris Wallace has information that I don’t have, but that he is saying that Barr is perpetuating a lie about this conversation between him and Mueller?"
