On Wednesday, President Donald Trump will hold a rally in the heart of Florida. This is his first 2020 campaign rally in the state since 2018.

However, Panama City is recovering from hurricane season and the lack of federal funding. County Commissioner Philip Griffitts, a Republican said that the state did not need another political rally.

"As much as Bay County votes Republican, we don't need a political rally right now. We need some good news from the federal government," he said.

"Florida is crucial to Trump's reelection chances in 2020. Without Florida, there is virtually no path for his victory. Trump's campaign and Republicans in the state are feeling good about their chances," a report from NPR said.

Trump tweeted that relief efforts for the hurricane have been blocked by Democrats.

"Getting ready to leave for one of my favorite places, the Florida Panhandle, where we’ve given, and are giving, billions of $$$ for the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael. Even though the Dems are totally in our way (they don’t want money to go there) we’re getting it done!" Trump tweeted.
