'Stay away from the Epstein chapter': Huckabee's 'Kids Guide to Trump' brutally reviewed

The panel on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" had a field day on Monday morning laughing at former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee hawking a "Kids Guide to Donald Trump" with co-host Joe Scarborough suggesting it should contain a chapter about "Orgy Island."

After showing a clip of Huckabee huckstering the book, "Morning Joe" regular John Heilemann immediately laughed and remarked, "Stay away from the Epstein chapter," referencing Trump's longtime relationship with the notorious child sex offender.

Morning Joe bashes the NY Times for getting played by 'rightwing hucksters' about Biden

In a long monologue on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," host Joe Scarborough took aim at the New York Times — and the media in general — for being manipulated by "rightwing stooges" to overanalyze every word and move Joe Biden makes.

To make his point, he focused on what he called the NYT's "syntax blog" which is tasked with poring over every Biden evidence in search of something to seize upon to make the case that he is sundowning.

Jumping right into it, the MSNBC host stated by admitting Biden "had a horrible day, absolutely dismal debate," before going on to point out, "That's sort of the five-alarm fire the media went to."

"I think a week later, you know, now that the New York Times has a syntax blog that is following his syntax in radio interviews in Wisconsin, it's gotten ridiculous and over the top," he laughed. "You actually have a guy sitting down in Mar-a-Lago, again, that's told lie after lie after lie after lie."

"Yeah, the reporting has gotten crazy and over the top because, once again, and I love this about the press, like, mainstream media, they're like, 'Oh, no, they're saying we're unfair. They're saying that we have hidden this.' Who hid it?" he exclaimed. "For all the right-wing stooges saying the mainstream media hid this, like I said, I probably spent more time with Joe Biden than most reporters. Talked to him about in-depth foreign policy ... the guy was completely there."

'Why are they hiding him?': Morning Joe points to bad news for Trump

After sharing clips of an invigorated President Joe Biden hitting the campaign trail over the weekend, "Morning Joe," host Joe Scarborough kicked off Monday morning's show by pouncing on the fact that the embattled president isn't afraid to get out in front of crowds while Donald Trump has been nowhere to be seen.

Reiterating what he has been saying, that Trump's advisers are afraid to put their man out there for fear he'll start on a crazy rant, the MSNBC host delivered some bad news for the former president.

Sitting next to co-host Mika Brzezinski, Scarborough began, "Where is he? Why are they hiding him? Are they afraid that he may go out and talk about World War II coming or Barack Obama being president, or will he go, 'Ah, ya ya ya'"

Continuing in that vein, he exclaimed, "Are they afraid to let him talk? Allies are going, 'Oh, Joe Biden, what are they hiding? What are they scared of?' And Donald Trump, he's burrowed down in Mar-a-Lago, they won't let him out. He's a prisoner in a gilded cage because they're afraid he may actually open his mouth. The irony."

"Well, you know what they found was, as badly as Joe Biden did — we've all said he did horrifically— you look at the polls, and even the New York Times/Sienna poll, which has always been an outlier against Biden, shows that even with that terrible performance, he picked up independent voters against Donald Trump. Right?" he continued.

"So what are they doing with Donald Trump?" he asked. "They're keeping him out of sight until the Republican convention maybe — who knows?" he added. "Maybe his handlers, maybe his bosses will let him out this week, but right now, they're saying 'No, no, man, you have to stay right there. You can't talk, people hate you, independents hate you, swing voters hate you. Just be quiet, and you may win this thing again.' It's kind of crazy."

A report surfaced over the weekend stating that Lieu was among those calling for Biden to quit the race on a private call. Specifically, the Washington Post stated, "Those who forcefully made the case for the president to drop his reelection bid were: Reps. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Joseph Morelle (D-N.Y.), Ted Lieu (D-Calif.), Mark Takano (D-Calif.) and Adam Smith (D-Wash.), according to the three on the call who were granted anonymity to discuss a private meeting."
