CBS host Margaret Brennan challenged Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) after he downplayed a racist insult comedian who criticized Puerto Rico at a campaign event with former President Donald Trump.

"In recent days, the Harris campaign has said they have seen favorable movement towards them with Latinos and with undecided voters, particularly following that New York rally we referenced there with the insult comment making remarks about Puerto Rico," Brennan explained during a Sunday interview. "You've been focused on outreach to Hispanic voters for the Trump campaign. Are you concerned that this unforced error hurt outreach?"

NBC host Kristen Welker confronted Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), a surrogate for Donald Trump, after the former president called supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris "garbage."

"Governor, let me ask you about a big story this week, the campaign continuing to deal with the fallout from the offensive comments about Puerto Rico made by a supporter of former President Trump by that comedian at that rally last weekend," Welker told Burgum in a Sunday interview. "The Puerto Rican community in Pennsylvania factors almost half a million people in that critical state, some saying they were absolutely furious about the comments, hurt that former President Trump hasn't apologized."

CNN's Dana Bash lost her patience with Sen. Tim Scott on Sunday morning after he first refused to encourage Donald Trump to stop spreading conspiracy rumors about Tuesday's election and then the South Carolina Republican blamed the media for spreading "misinformation."

During his appearance on CNN's "State of the Union," the Donald Trump advocate was pressed by the CNN host to say if he will agree with the election results if the former president loses and whether he would urge Trump to follow suit.

Republican strategist Karl Rove threw cold water on claims from Donald Trump's campaign that he could win Virginia and New Mexico in Tuesday's presidential contest.

Rove made the remarks on Sunday after an Iowa poll showed Vice President Kamala Harris taking a surprising lead in Iowa.

Fox News correspondent Aishah Hasnie said the Trump campaign was scrambling after a new "shock poll" showed Donald Trump losing in the red state of Iowa.

"Now, all of this comes as a new Des Moines Register poll came out last night, a shock poll showing Harris beating Trump by three points in Iowa, normally a red state," Hasnie reported Sunday. "That sent shockwaves across the political spectrum."

Kamala Harris made a not-so-surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live" three days before Election Day, appearing on the other side of a false mirror from her on-air alter ego Maya Rudolph.

The vice president had been rumored to appear on the show, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary on air, and showed up toward the end of the episode's cold open when Rudolph briefly paused to take in the enormity of the moment.

Businessman Tim Sheehy, who is vying for Montana Democrat Sen. Jon Tester's U.S. Senate seat, did not do his campaign any favors by appearing on conservative Megyn Kelly's podcast.

Sheehy, a former Navy SEAL, has been under fire for claiming during his campaign he was shot in combat which has been disputed by a park ranger who recalled dealing with him and his wound after he accidentally shot himself during a family trip in Glacier National Park in 2015.

With the cloud of where, when and how he was shot hanging over his head, host Kelly gave him a chance to clear the air on Friday and he seemed unprepared with a straightforward answer.

"But were you wounded? In the park? Did you have a wound, Tim, in the park?" Kelly pressed her guest.

'No, no. Yes," he replied. "I fell and injured my arm when we were hiking. So that’s why I went, because, you know, I could feel the bullet get dislodged when I fell and fell on the arm, you could feel the bullet get dislodged, and then went to the ER to say, 'Hey, you know, look, you know, I’ve got internal bleeding going on here, I’ve injured my arm, can you take a look at this, make sure there’s nothing serious going on here.'"

Pressed further by a puzzled-looking Kelly who asked, "Are there medical records where the ER could say, “We did not treat a gunshot wound”? he replied, "Well, there, there isn’t, I mean that’s the point. You go in, you check on it, and you leave."

Podcaster and tech journalist Kara Swisher lost patience with a conservative Reihan Salam on CNN on Saturday morning and accused him of not caring that Donald Trump is obviously "addled."

During their weekly face-off on "The Chris Wallace Show," Salam tried to dismiss the firestorm created by a conservative speaker at a Trump rally, calling Puerto Rico "garbage," and tried to make the case that President Joe Biden's response to it was worse.

According to Salam, too much is being made about the Madison Square Garden "joke" and it should not reflect on Trump's re-election campaign as well as comments the ex-president has made recently.

That drew a swift rebuke and accusation from Swisher who repeatedly said "Stop it" as Salam spoke.

Making his case he told the panel, "I think basically you have a lot of voters who believe that there is a certain censoriousness coming from the left and the idea that we are elevating a warm-up act who tells rancid jokes and have been doing it for years."

"I think that might have been a bad call," he continued as Swisher protested. "The president of the United States [Biden] was actually, for four years, been denouncing his political opponents and talking about ultra MAGA and fascism when referring to people who oppose his agenda. This is absolutely routine background noise and this garbage remark is something that actually does remind people of it."

"Trump makes, literally, every hour Trump makes an offensive remark," Swisher pushed back. "Every hour Trump makes another offensive remark, one more offensive than the other."

"Because, one, he's addled. You don't mind him being addled," she accused.

With the 2024 presidential election just three days away, former Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele told Democrats that they "should feel good about Tuesday" –– and then took a jab at Donald Trump's rabid followers.

From his perch as a co-host on MSNBC's "The Weekend," Steele claimed Donald Trump's campaign botched his re-election chances by outsourcing get-out-the-votes efforts which is key to winning elections.

During an appearance on CNN on Saturday morning, Democratic campaign strategist James Carville fired back at Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) after he accused President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of siccing the Justice Department on their enemies.

With CNN host Michael Smerconish acting as moderator, Carville could be seen in split-screen ready to fire back as the MAGA lawmaker as he attempted to dismiss Trump's threat of "retribution" if he is re-elected.

During an appearance on CNN early Saturday morning, election expert Larry Sabato, founder of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, claimed Donald Trump may have finally doomed his chances with moderate and independent voters in the waning days before voters head to the polls on Tuesday.

Speaking with CNN host Amara Walker, Sabato was asked if Trump's comments about former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), stating she should "face guns," was likely the last straw for the few voters who were still on the fence.

"Is he worried about losing undecided or moderate voters? Should he be?" the CNN host asked.

"Oh, absolutely he should be," Sabato shot back. "He went way too far on Liz Cheney."

"I think it's having an impact. The Harris campaign is saying it is having an impact on the remaining undecided voters," he continued, before elaborating, "I dont know how they can track them, there are so few of them relatively speaking, but apparently they say that it's caused these undecideds to break towards Kamala Harris."

"Now we'll see when we analyze the data from a nonpartisan perspective but it couldn't help him," he added. "This is extreme rhetoric from anybody, much less a presidential candidate and surely Trump's staff encouraged him to walk some of that back, but he didn't. He doubled down, that's Donald Trump, which reminds people what the next four years are going to look like. What they are going to look like if Donald Trump is back in the White House."
