Georgia state Sen. Colton Moore (R) held what he said was an "urgent" fundraiser after being arrested on misdemeanor charges of obstructing law enforcement.
Moore was detained Thursday while trying to attend the annual State of the State Address at the Georgia Capitol. House Speaker Jon Burns (R) previously banned Moore from attending for "vile, disparaging and false comments" about the late House Speaker David Ralston.
After being released from Fulton County Jail on a $1,000 surety bond, he urged donations to the "Colton Moore Defense Fund."
"We will not stand for this tyranny. We will not remain idle as the Constitution is ignored by the RINO Speaker of the House," a statement on his fundraising website said. "We are asking for your help to fund the Colton Moore Defense Fund."

Fine print indicated Citizens Alliance of America Action, Inc. organized the fundraiser. The group had previously worked to defund Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
A video on the website seemed to draw comparisons between Moore's arrest and charges against President-elect Donald Trump in Fulton County.
