Senate report on Capitol riot ends with full transcript of Trump's speech on Jan. 6

The last appendix of the 128-page Senate report on the U.S. Capitol riot is a transcript of former president Donald Trump's speech to supporters ahead of the deadly assault.

The Senate report sums up the findings so far in an investigation by the Homeland Security and Rules committees, and one of the senators involved in putting together the document pointed their finger at the twice-impeached one-term president for inciting the riot.

"His false claims of this election is what led to this insurrection," said Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN).

The report includes a 23-page full transcript of Trump's speech at a "Stop The Steal" rally in Washington, D.C., from which many supporters marched on the Capitol and then stormed inside.

Video evidence shows many of the rioters making clear they believe Trump ordered them to go inside the Capitol to stop the congressional certification of Joe Biden's win, and many of those arrested have in court filings blamed the former president for their actions.
