Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) didn’t hide his views of Attorney General Pam Bondi, who he blasted on a right-wing podcast over her bombshell announcement that “blew up in her face" last week when Bondi promised to release new Jeffrey Epstein files that never came.
“That was a stupid move,” Burchett said Tuesday.
The comments came during an interview on the “Benny Johnson Show,” which the host broadcast live on Capitol Hill ahead of President Donald Trump’s address to Congress.
But Burchett was unable to showcase a united front when host Benny Johnson raised the issue of the long-awaited Epstein files – a subject of years worth of fascination and rampant conspiracies.
“What the hell is going on with this list man?” Johnson asked.

“I don’t think it exists anymore,” Burchett said bluntly. “I think they’ve doctored it and I don’t think – we shouldn’t trust what comes out. I just think, they’ve delayed it and…she was way over her skis when she said, you know, ‘it’s sitting on my desk,’ now why the heck would she say that? Why would she say that?"
The MAGA lawmaker added: “She’s big doggin’ it and it blew up in her face.”
Bondi has repeatedly insisted that the files would be released to the public – though no new information from the Department of Justice has dropped. The attorney general has maintained that protecting the victims’ identity and personal information is something she has to consider as the information is disclosed.
“It’s pretty sick what that man did,” Bondi said last week in a Fox News interview.
