During a meeting Monday night to address racism in their Minnesota school district, Prior Lake–Savage Area Schools board members walked out after being confronted by students and activists upset over a viral video that targeted a student with racial slurs, Bring Me The News reports.
The video showed a Prior Lake High School student using racial slurs, including the N-word, towards a student of color later identified as 14-year-old Nya Sigin.
"You dark ass n**ger," the student says in the video. "You dark ass chocolate bar. Get the f*ck out of here. No one likes n**gers. No one likes them. F*cking kill yourself right this time. Do it f*cking right. Cut deep enough this time, or f*cking tie the rope higher. Like, what the f*ck."
Nya described the video as "the most disgusting thing I've ever witnessed in my entire life."

As speakers addressed the board this week, a man interrupted and began yelling and cursing, prompting board members to leave the room.
"I was going to enter this room with a blow horn and I wasn't going to listen to anything you had to say," the man, identified as Lavish Mack stated, later telling the board that "you will hear me."
"I'm not here to talk about equity or equality and diversity, I'm here to demand that the school takes accountability, in the light of an international scandal! You all need to make a decision! In the light of an international scandal! You all need to make a god-damned decision!" Mack yelled.
A majority of the board walked out as Mack spoke, although a small number returned to hear him speak.
A Black female student, speaking after Mack, accused district staff members and students of "saying the N-word."
"It's sick. It's a travesty," the student said.
"I never knew what racism was till I became a Laker. I have been called so many racial slurs, spit on, discriminated against, and had things thrown at me all because of the color of my skin," she continued. "When I went to the middle school, Twin Oaks, there was a Confederate flag that greeted me outside the school every day."
When the board returned and tried to close the meeting, Nya Sigin's sister spoke up, telling the board, "You do not listen to anything we have to say."

"Every day we have to struggle and you can just walk out of the room and not see what we have to go through," Elizabeth Sigin said. "You all are white and you all raise racist children ... you do not care about any of us in this room, and I hope every day that your children feel what we feel ... and go through everything we have to go through."
