Trump says Stacey Abrams is ‘not qualified’ to be governor of Georgia in latest attack on a woman of color

Speaking in the Roosevelt Room in the White House, President Donald Trump lashed out on Thursday at a woman of color.

The president was asked about Oprah Winfrey campaigning in Georgia.

Oprah is campaigning for Democrat Stacey Abrams, who is running for governor against controversial Secretary of State Brian Kemp.

"The woman she is supporting is not qualified to be the governor of Georgia -- by any stretch of the imagination," Trump argued.

Abrams is a Yale-educated attorney who served as minority leader in the state legislature. Trump never attended graduate school and had never held office before being sworn in as president.

"She is not qualified to be governor of Georgia," he repeated. "Not qualified."

This is not the first time Trump has attacked a woman of color.

In August, Trump called former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman a "dog."

In June, Trump referred to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) as "an extraordinarily low IQ person."
