Trump spends $3 million to pay lawyers as one super PAC bails out another: report

Former President Donald Trump burned through $3 million of campaign cash to pay attorneys as one super PAC bailed out another, according to the Daily Beast.

The Trump-backing “Save America” PAC confirmed they had only collected $8,508 from donors spanning the entire month of January, according to the Daily Beast.

The 45th president remains the GOP frontrunner in the 2024 presidential race even as legal judgments mount up to the tune of nearly a half-billion dollars.

There's the $83.3 million defamation penalty owed to columnist E. Jean Carroll and the whopping $355 million Trump was fined by Justice Arthur Engoron in New York Attorney General Letitia James' civil fraud case.

Public findings released on Tuesday by the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) that the Trump campaign raised about $8.8 million, spent about $11.5 million and reported a loss of more than $2.6 million in January.

In contrast, Trump's rival former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley flexed $11.5 million in fundraising for January.

That marks the first time where Haley's outraised Trump, the outlet confirmed.

Potentially most critical to Trump's money situation is the super PACs having to keep afloat.

The Save America PAC secured a $5 million refund that it divvied out to to support other entities.

But most notable is how Save America itself is bailing out Trump’s other PACs — transferring $500,000 to “Make America Great Again PAC,” which kicked off 2024 with about $570,000 in the bank, according to the Daily Beast.

The Save America PAC reported taking in more than $1 million and ending with nearly $6.3 million in the bank.
