The White House briefing room might look a lot different in Donald Trump's second presidency, according to his eldest son.
During the latest episode of his podcast, "Triggered With Donald Trump Jr.," his co-host Michael Knowles floated an idea to reorder the seating chart in the briefing room to punish some journalists and elevate others, reported The Daily Beast.
“I wonder now, as your father is assembling his team, as maybe [incoming White House press secretary] Karoline Leavitt is looking at the new press briefing room chart," Knowles said, "maybe it’s time to reorder that chart and maybe take away some people’s seats.”
Trump Jr. said that's exactly what he had his father had been discussing with others in the president-elect's inner circle.
“We’re going to break some news here because I literally had this conversation with — I was flying back, I was on the plane with my father, I think it was coming back from the SpaceX launch with Elon [Musk] last week," Trump Jr. said, "and we were talking about the podcast world and some of our friends and [Joe] Rogan and guys like you.”
"So that may be in the works,” he added. “That’s going to blow up some heads, so we’ll see.”
Trump Jr. didn't identify any of the podcasters who might be considered besides Knowles and Rogan, who lives in Austin, Texas, but the president-elect took part in numerous interviews with several streaming and podcast hosts, including comedians Andrew Schultz and Theo Von, retired pro wrestler Mark “The Undertaker” Calaway, the Barstool Sports podcast "Bussin’ with the Boys" and slur-spewing YouTuber Adin Ross.
The independent White House Correspondents' Association is responsible for assigning seats in the James S. Brady Briefing Room, which has only 49 spots, but the White House issues credentials to the correspondent who take part in the briefings.
