‘New level of weird’: Tucker Carlson’s ‘creepy’ daddy speech shakes up social media

Tucker Carlson’s bizarre speech at a Donald Trump rally on Wednesday in which he compared Trump returning to the White House as “daddy coming come” left many stunned social media users questioning the former Fox News host's message.

“There has to be a point at which dad comes home,” Carlson told a cheering crowd during a speech in Duluth, Georgia. “Yeah, that’s right, dad comes home and he’s p---ed. Dad is p---ed. He’s not vengeful, he loves his children, disobedient as they may be.”

He continued: “And when dad gets home, you know what he says? You’ve been a bad girl. You’ve been a bad little girl and you’re getting a vigorous spanking right now. And no, it’s not going to hurt me more than it hurts you, not it’s not. I’m not going to lie. It’s going to hurt you a lot more than it hurts me.”

The moment quickly lit up social media.

“'Daddy’s coming home,' says Tucker Carlson. This is really creepy. I am not sure what is happening in the U.S. but it has reached a whole new level of weird. The world should be concerned,” Canadian Jill Davis, a retired newspaper editor, wrote on X.

“This is f---ing weird,” James Singer, a rapid response adviser for the Harris-Walz campaign wrote in a social media post.

Chris Jackson, a local party chair in Tennessee and Democratic strategist wrote: “These people are absolutely sick.”

"Tucker thinks daddy government needs to come in and control your life, because you’re not capable of making your own decisions," wrote the anti-Trump conservative group The Lincoln Project. "If you’re a coward like Tucker you might love iron-fisted tyrants like Putin and Trump, but here in America we don’t lick anyone’s boots."

When Trump arrived on stage, supporters began chanting “Daddy’s home” and “Daddy Don,” according to a CNN report.
