WATCH: Seth Meyers blasts 'savage and cruel' GOP health bill Trump knows less about than the country he invented

Seth Meyers thinks there's nothing President Donald Trump is better at than making big, sweeping promises "even though he has no idea how to achieve him." During his Thursday episode of "Late Night," Meyers admitted it's like he's living in an episode of the Netflix series "Stranger Things" and Trump is the star.

His first example is the strange meeting between Trump and President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority. Trump explained to the press that he wanted to achieve Middle East peace, but he had no idea how to do it.

"Israel is working hard toward the same goal and I must tell you Saudi Arabia and many of the different nations are working also hard, so we'll see if we can put it together. Uh, who knows, stranger things have happened," Trump told the press at the meeting.

Meyers said that Trump talks about Middle East peace like a comple who might get back together. "He's right though," Meyers continued. "Not only have stranger things happened, stranger things are constantly happening. I think we might all be stuck in an episode of 'Stranger Things.'"

Trump seems consistently confused, Meyers explained. He invented the country Nambia during a speech at the UN on Wednesday.

One of the other promises from Trump that have still not come to fruition is that Trump promised he would repeal and replace Obamacare while still providing care for everyone at a lower cost. Trump further promised it would be "very easy to pass."

"Shockingly, it turns out Trump had no idea how to accomplish any of it," Meyers said. "In fact, a recent meeting with a bipartisan group of lawmakers tried to pitch him on a compromise bill to shore up Obamacare, all Trump cared about was the name."

According to Politico, Trump asked if he could call it "repeal and replace" and a Democratic official told him, "you can call it whatever you want, Mr. President."

"Hell, you can call it Nambia," Meyers joked. "Nobody else is using it."

But that's when Meyers got angry. When talking about the bill from Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Bill Cassidy (R-AR), Meyers said that this is the GOP's "last ditch effort" and called it a "Hail Mary." In fact, Meyers came up with a prayer he thinks the Republicans could use at this point.

“Hail Mary, full of grace, does this mole look weird to you?” he joked.

Citing a recent Vox story, Meyers said that reporters asked Republican senators what should have been easy questions about the new bill. They had no idea how to answer them. When he described the things that the bill would cut, according to Politifact, Meyers called them "savage and cruel."

"Those cuts may seem savage and cruel, but to be fair Republicans have always preached fiscal responsibility and the importance of saving money," Meyers recalled. But, it turns out, Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price is using the government's private jet for no real reason other than he wants to go places without having to pay for it. It includes a flight on a private charter jet to Philadelphia from Washington, D.C. which cost taxpayers $25,000.

"So, Tom Price thinks Medicaid patients should lose their health care but has no problem spending tens of thousands of dollars on private jets," Meyers said. He then cited Steve Mnuchin's use of a private government jet to see the solar eclipse at Ft. Knox.
