A boxing challenge from Facebook user Jay Artem to rapper Talib Kweli escalated into a heated online feud marked by escalating accusations and threats.

Artem initiated the confrontation by posting repeated challenges for Kweli to accept a boxing match. Kweli declined and responded by labeling Artem a white nationalist who hates Black and gay people, claims unsupported by public record or documentation from the rapper.

Kweli also published a statement, "I do not agree to participate in a contest of physical dominance with this creepy racist weirdo," he wrote.

"The quickest way to lose the use of their hands is to try to place one on me," Kweli added, "He gonna learn today."

Artem subsequently claimed Kweli encouraged fans to target him and alleged people were threatening his five-year-old child.

Artem threatened, "Anyone who comes on my property will cease to exist," and demanded Kweli stop his supporters by day's end.

Artem's claims could not be independently verified.
