On Friday, the Washington Post reported that three lawmakers — Reps. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) Jahana Hayes (D-CT) and Jim Himes (D-CT) — were "targeted with bomb threats." House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said the threats ranged from “detailed threats of a pipe bomb placed in mailboxes to swatting," the latter of which is the term used for an anonymous caller alerting police to a situation at an address that requires an immediate armed response.
