Dr. Oz says Americans must ‘earn the right’ to be on Medicaid

Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, is promoting President Donald Trump’s sweeping and highly controversial budget legislation by claiming it will guarantee access to the social safety net for the “right” people. He argues that, under the GOP plan, individuals will need to “earn” the right to use Medicaid, suggesting that many current recipients are capable of working but choose not to.

Nearly half (47.9%) of Medicaid users under 65 are children aged 0 to 18, according to KFF, the well-known nonpartisan health policy organization. Six in ten families accessing Medicaid have at least one family member who works full time.

'Ridiculous and embarrassing': CNN anchor blasts GOP senator for 'juvenile' post

A CNN anchor didn't mince words in describing a Republican senator's comments following a spate of targeted shootings in Minnesota over the weekend that left a Democratic state lawmaker and her husband dead.

Vance Boelter, 57, disguised himself as a police officer and targeted the homes of state lawmakers, authorities said. Early Saturday, Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were shot dead at their Brooklyn Park home. Shortly before that, authorities said Boelter targeted the home of state Sen. John Hoffman in Champlin, where both Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were shot multiple times. Both survived.

Trump to give TikTok another extension before enforcing sale-or-ban law

President Donald Trump is moving to grant yet another three-month extension for short-form video social media platform TikTok to arrange a deal, before enforcing the sale-or-ban legislation passed last year, CNN reported.

“President Trump will sign an additional Executive Order this week to keep TikTok up and running,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement Tuesday. “As he has said many times, President Trump does not want TikTok to go dark. This extension will last 90 days, which the Administration will spend working to ensure this deal is closed so that the American people can continue to use TikTok with the assurance that their data is safe and secure.”
