Trump Cabinet warned open season impeachment looms — but there's a catch

Longtime political strategist Chai Komanduri told MS NOW's Ari Melber that Democrats will have a valid reason to impeach several members of President Donald Trump's Cabinet should they retake the House in November, as many polls suggest is likely — but they should temper their expectations of just how much of a political boon it will be.

"When you look at the blatant admitted targeting of political opponents, which is unconstitutional, the allegations around grift and crypto — I asked Ty Cobb about this, who represented the Trump White House, and he said, in [Attorney General Pam] Bondi's case, of course, there's a substantive case to impeach her if they win the midterms," said Melber, who then played the clip of Cobb saying such.

'Salacious' rumors engulfing Kristi Noem pose national security threat: ex-prosecutor

Swirling speculation of an affair between two top Trump administration officials is more than merely "salacious," a former federal prosecutor warned Tuesday it has national security implications.

Neo-Nazi influencer 'can't wait' to see Trump and Cabinet impeached after 'betraying' MAGA

Far-right white nationalist and Nazi sympathizer Nick Fuentes is now so far off the Trump train that he's relishing the idea of Democrats taking over and impeaching the president.

"I can’t wait for Republicans to get destroyed in the midterms and then for Trump and his cabinet to get impeached," wrote Fuentes on Tuesday. "After totally betraying their own voters on deportations, Iran, H-1B’s, and Epstein Files, they deserve to be fired."

Trump admin gets sharp rebuke as judge outright terminates high-profile deportation case

An immigration judge has axed the Trump administration's deportation case against Mohsen Mahdawi, a Columbia University graduate student and pro-Palestinian activist, marking another major legal blow to the government's crackdown on college campus demonstrators in recent weeks.

The judge terminated the case after determining the government failed to properly authenticate a crucial document, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing Mahdawi's legal team. The 35-year-old Palestinian green-card holder faced charges of posing a "foreign-policy threat" to the U.S. following his detention in April at a citizenship interview in Vermont.

Expert aghast at Trump admin's scheme to turn legal immigration system into a 'trap'

A new report about the Trump administration's "assault on legal immigration" left one expert aghast on Tuesday.

President Donald Trump campaigned on deporting all illegal immigrants in the U.S. Since taking office, he has empowered the Department of Homeland Security to take active measures to achieve that goal, including setting a quota of 3,000 arrests per month, according to reports. But Trump's plan also appears to include turning the legal immigration process into a trap, The New Yorker reported.

Supreme Court's 'embarrassing' attempt to address major ethics issue astounds legal expert

Legal expert Chris Geidner tore into the Supreme Court on his Law Dork blog for making an "embarrassing" roundabout ethics rule change that is meant to look like they're preventing conflicts of interest with individual stock ownership — while in fact allowing the two justices who trade individual stocks to keep doing so.

"Did the justices agree to divest from individual stock ownership — which would be the cleanest, most ethical, and easiest step, especially given that Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Sam Alito are the only two justices who currently own individual stocks? Of course not," chided Geidner. "The Chief Justice of the United States will literally change the rules of the Supreme Court of the United States instead of divesting in individual stocks. Really."

Trump admin accused of making 'serious omissions' in election scheme

New court documents filed on Tuesday accuse the Trump administration of serious omissions in its efforts to retrieve voting records from Fulton County, Georgia.

In late January, the Trump administration dispatched the FBI and the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, to raid the elections office in Fulton County. The administration took nearly 700 boxes of material related to the 2020 general election, including the county's voter rolls, which courts have so far denied the administration access to.

Trump official buried in mockery over false tariff claim: 'It's ok to be confused'

Mockery abounded on Tuesday after one of President Donald Trump's officials made a false claim about the president's tariffs.

U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer joined CNBC on Tuesday, where he was asked whether Trump's tariffs are regressive, meaning they disproportionately impact lower-income households. Greer claimed the tariffs are not regressive, which caused "Squawk Box" host Joe Kernen to joke that they are really a tax on the wealthy, which would get a lot of support in a Democratic House of Representatives.

Rep. Wesley Hunt, a close ally of President Donald Trump running to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate, has filed a police report after his opponent and incumbent Republican Sen. John Cornyn's senior aide allegedly shared an image of Hunt's 2016 provisional ballot.

Republicans turn on Trump czar over prediction market power grab: 'Destroying lives!'

An industry-beloved financial regulator appointed by President Donald Trump is declaring war on states' ability to regulate a growing class of gambling companies — and even Republican state officials are pushing back.

The issue concerns so-called prediction markets, which allow people to "trade futures" on the probability of various events occurring. The overwhelming bulk of their trading volume involves sporting events. These companies, like Polymarket and Kalshi, have effectively made online sports betting legal on a level not seen in decades, while Trump's family has struck up financial partnerships with them. Lawsuits accuse prediction markets of illegal and predatory practices behind the scenes.
