MS NOW host sounds off on 'most cowardly corporate lawyers' after canceled Dem interview

MS NOW host Lawrence O'Donnell sounded off against what he described as "the most cowardly corporate lawyers in America" after a popular Democrat's interview was canceled.

On Monday night, Texas state Rep. James Talarico was scheduled to appear on "The Late Show" with host Stephen Colbert. But Colbert told the audience that the interview was canceled because CBS News' lawyers said it could violate the Federal Communications Commission's equal-time rule. Instead of airing the interview live, Colbert posted it on social media, where it attracted millions of views.

Conservative analysts expose 'fundamental lie' behind CBS News shakeup

Two conservative analysts exposed the "fundamental lie" behind the recent shakeup at CBS News during a podcast interview on Tuesday.

The acquisition of The Free Press by Paramount Skydance and the subsequent installation of Bari Weiss as Editor-in-Chief at CBS News was not only a sizable shift in the U.S. media landscape, but it also revealed something unsettling about the state of the media, according to Tim Miller, host of "The Bulwark Podcast," and Jonathan Last, a writer at the outlet. They argued in a new podcast episode on Tuesday that the move shows media companies are now seen as vehicles for appeasing President Donald Trump, something people who supported the shakeup at CBS News often deny.

Hegseth continues military purge —far below the generals: analysis

President Donald Trump's Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is continuing his purge of the military — and this time he's reaching below the rank of generals to do it, The Atlantic's Nancy A. Youssef and Missy Ryan reported on Tuesday.

This comes after Hegseth, who styles himself "Secretary of War" in response to a questionably legal executive order from Trump, already purged generals and admirals, ordering a 20 percent cut of personnel in a move that sparked outrage.

'Graciously explicit' job post reveals Trump's DHS expanding shadowy apparatus: report

President Donald Trump's Department of Homeland Security is expanding a shadowy part of its operations, according to a new report.

Independent journalist Ken Klippenstein reported on Tuesday on a "graciously explicit" job posting from a long-time defense contracting company called Xcelerate Solutions, which is hiring a "Top Secret-cleared analyst to join the 'watchlisting team'" that supports Immigration and Customs Enforcement's "watchlist apparatus." The report was published at a time when the Trump administration's immigration forces are facing increased scrutiny over their actions in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where two U.S. citizens were shot and killed by federal agents.

Wave of subpoenas unleashed as Trump DOJ launches attack on 2016 Russia probe

President Donald Trump's Department of Justice has sent out a new wave of subpoenas related to the FBI's investigation of Trump's ties to the Russian government in 2016, according to a new report.

This marks the second time the administration has sought to re-litigate the 2016 Russia investigation in the court of public opinion. Last November, the administration subpoenaed former members of the U.S. intelligence community over their actions during the Russia investigation. The new round of subpoenas seeks information about the intelligence community's actions in compiling an intelligence assessment of the election, The Associated Press reported.

Judge torches DOJ's antifa 'terrorism' trial claiming lawyer's shirt poisoned jury minds

A Trump-appointed federal judge in Texas abruptly ended a closely watched terrorism trial Tuesday over a defense attorney's shirt.

As Raw Story has reported, a trial was to begin in Fort Worth that would've tested whether President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice could use a criminalized notion of “antifa” to convict nine anti-ICE activists of attempted murder and terrorism, after they shot fireworks and vandalized government vehicles.

'Pathetic': Senate Republican scoffs as his campaign reported to police

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) has had his campaign reported to the police by one of his main primary rivals — but at least outwardly, he isn't projecting any concern at all.

On Tuesday, Rep. Wesley Hunt, who is challenging Cornyn for the nomination, filed a report with the Harris County Constable's Office, accusing Cornyn's campaign of illegally revealing personal information about Hunt and his family. The controversy started when one of Cornyn's campaign strategists shared an image of Hunt's 2016 provisional ballot, alleging that he lied about the term of his military service to request a ballot for a race he wasn't registered to run in. The ballot did not have any of Hunt's personal information redacted.

Trump could soon suffer stinging court loss as major case on 'life support': expert

President Donald Trump could soon suffer another stinging court loss as a major case his administration is pursuing is on "life support," according to one expert.

For almost a year, the Trump administration has tried to prosecute Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland resident with temporary protected status, on charges of human trafficking. The Trump administration "mistakenly" deported Abrego Garcia in May to El Salvador, where he spent several weeks in the infamous CECOT prison. Abrego Garcia was returned to the U.S. after spending about seven months abroad, and the Trump administration has since moved to prosecute him again in Tennessee.

House Democrats are plotting possible ways to force a vote censuring Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) after he made a social media post claiming that Muslims are worth less than dogs.

This comes after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) issued a statement proclaiming that, "House Democrats will not let the racist and bigoted behavior of Randy Fine go unchecked. Accountability is coming to all of these sick extremists when the gavels change hands in November, if not sooner."
