A classified CIA memo reveals Iran maintains a substantially stronger military and economic position than President Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged.
According to a Washington Post report, the intelligence assessment found Iran can withstand the U.S. naval blockade for three to four months — longer than the White House suggested.
Most significantly, the CIA determined Tehran retains approximately 75 percent of its prewar mobile launcher inventories and 70 percent of its missile stockpiles, contradicting Trump's claim that Iran's capabilities were "mostly decimated" with only 18-19 percent remaining.
Intelligence officials found evidence that Iran has recovered underground storage facilities, repaired damaged missiles, and assembled new ones. U.S. officials suggest the CIA estimate may be optimistic and that Iran's leadership is "increasingly confident they can outlast U.S. political will."
Three current and one former U.S. official confirmed these findings to the Post.
