Legendary Democratic strategist James Carville said on the Politicon YouTube channel that national security agencies should investigate whether incoming White House chief of staff Stephen Miller is compromised by Russia.
The stakes are high, Carville noted, because the job controls the flow of information and access to the president.
He suggested someone check the donors and advertisers on Miller's wife's podcast. He also pointed to the Millers dressing their young son as a Russian soldier, though he cited nothing else.
“Is it possible that the White House chief of staff... are anybody compromised by the Russians?” he asked, adding that he isn’t “assured at all” and that viewers shouldn’t be either. He quipped that he didn’t dress his own children in Ole Miss uniforms, and called it a “cause for severe concern and investigation.”
Carville said the incoming House and Senate, the FBI, the CIA and anyone involved in national security shouldn’t “sit still” until they can assure Americans that the chief of staff isn’t compromised by Russia. He urged viewers to contact their representatives and senators, acknowledging the job isn’t Senate-confirmable.
“We demand answers,” he said.
Carville isn’t alone. Miller’s elevation to the top White House post has triggered a wave of outrage from political observers.
