MS NOW’s Jen Psaki said on “The Briefing” that signs the “MAGA fever” is breaking are piling up after the midterms.
As proof, she pointed to Tesla’s Cybertruck, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), and several conservative media figures.
Psaki said Tesla is ending the Cybertruck, which she described as a rolling MAGA symbol. She floated several possible reasons: tech tycoon Elon Musk trimming costs after spending $500 million backing Republicans like Ken Paxton, a post-election plunge of more than $400 billion in the value of his companies’ shares, or simply that the truck was ugly.
“Who knows?” she said, adding that it could be a combination. She said investors may have been reacting to expected scrutiny of Musk in January.
Meanwhile, she continued, Johnson is clearing out of the speaker’s office and isn’t seeking to remain his caucus’s leader, and that far-right podcaster Laura Loomer announced a hiatus from her show.
Psaki said even mainstream conservative voices are singing “quite a different tune.” She played a clip of Megyn Kelly saying, “We’re no longer interested in the Trump show,” and criticizing the antics and grift she said had come at Americans’ expense. Psaki joked that President Donald Trump likely wishes Kelly had shut down like Loomer.
She also said Fox News’s editorial meetings must be tough, saying the network has been reduced to a game of rating the incoming Democrats.
