'Lots of luck': Morning Joe baffled by GOP hitching wagon to 'seven-time loser' Trump

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough marveled that the Republican Party was once again hitching their wagon to "seven-time loser" Donald Trump.

The quadruple-indicted, twice-impeached former president is the clear frontrunner in the GOP primary three years after some leading Republicans denounced him for inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection, and the "Morning Joe" host said he would likely lead them into another losing election cycle.

Morning Joe brutally mocks MAGA freakout over Taylor Swift

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski mocked the MAGA freakout over Taylor Swift.

The "Morning Joe" co-hosts showed a montage of right-wing media personalities complaining about Swift and her popularity, apparently hedging against her expected endorsement of President Joe Biden – whom she backed in 2020 – and Scarborough and Brzezinski burst into laughter at one commentator who complained that her fans were guilty of "idolatry."

Just months away from a potential rematch between Democratic U.S. President Joe Biden and Republican former President Donald Trump, democracy defenders are sounding the alarm about an Arizona bill recently introduced by a GOP state legislator.

State Sen. Anthony Kern (R-27) is spearheading Senate Concurrent Resolution 1014, which says that "the Legislature, and no other official, shall appoint presidential electors." If it passes both chambers, the measure could appear on the November ballot.

'Absolute nonsense': GOP Rep. slams Trump while coming out against impeachment effort

Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) blasted former President Donald Trump for playing a Sci-Fi dystopia Precog, saying that it's utter lunacy to claim it's a certainty that migrants will turn terrorists and attack the homeland.

"I live in an area that has a lot of migrants in Colorado," the lawmaker, who late last year announced he's not running to retain his House seat, explained during an appearance on CNN's "Out Front" with Erin Burnett.

Neither of them entered the Capitol that day, but Ryan faces up to 22 years in prison after being convicted in September of one felony and two misdemeanors.

Trump pressured prosecutor to 'blow up' Hunter Biden's gun plea deal: court filing

Hunter Biden’s lawyers working to dismiss their client’s gun case argued Tuesday far-right extremists and former President Donald Trump unduly pressured prosecutors once willing to cut a deal.

A new filing in Delaware’s federal court — where Hunter Biden stands accused of lying about drug use to purchase a firearm he kept for fewer than two weeks — contends political motivations tainted special counsel David Weiss’ case after a plea deal was in the works last year.

'Ironic': GOP lawmaker connects John Adams and Alanis Morissette in impeachment speech

A discussion of the possible impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Tuesday quickly devolved into a speech connecting former President John Adams and Canadian singer Alanis Morissette, Huffington Post reporter Jen Bendery posted on social media.

The diatribe came after Republican officials in the House Homeland Security Committee confessed they didn't have the evidence necessary to meet the standard of "high crimes and misdemeanors," the Washington Post wrote over the weekend. The charges against Mayorkas include that he failed to enforce U.S. immigration policies at the nation’s border.

Ego-bruised Trump insists to aides he's 'more popular' than Taylor Swift: report

Donald Trump's allies are already preparing a "holy war" against pop superstar Taylor Swift if she endorses President Joe Biden.

Sources familiar with the matter told Rolling Stone the former president's loyalists and other allies assume the singer-songwriter will eventually endorse Biden, as she did in 2020, and that likely move infuriates Trump and has already prompted MAGA culture warriors to whip up conspiracy theories about Swift and her NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce.
