Michigan AG says there is 'absolutely' enough evidence to charge phony GOP electors

According to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, there's "absolutely" enough evidence to charge 16 Republicans who signed a certificate falsely claiming that they were the state's presidential electors in December 2020. She also says their criminal prosecution should be carried out by federal authorities, the Detroit Free Press reports.

"Seemingly there's a conspiracy that occurred between multiple states. So if what your ultimate goal is, is not just to prosecute these 16 individuals, but to find out who put them up to this, is this part of a bigger conspiracy at play in order to undermine the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election, not just in Michigan but nationally?...It creates jurisdictional issues," Nessel said during a Tuesday news conference.

New court filing might signal that DOJ lawyers are 'focused on establishing a conspiracy' by Trump to disrupt certification

A new court filing by attorneys representing MAGA rioter Brandon Straka may shed some light on where Department of Justice investigators are heading in their probe of the January 6th attacks on the United States Capitol building.

As flagged by Politico's Kyle Cheney, Straka's lawyers claim that, during recent interviews with their client, "the government was focused on establishing an organized conspiracy between [Straka], President Donald J. Trump, and allies of the former president to disrupt the Joint Session of Congress on January 6."

Pro-Trump conspiracy theorist launches platform that allows random volunteers to become 'citizen adjudicators' of 2020 election results

Jeff O’Donnell, a Florida-based businessman whose LinkedIn profile lists him as CEO of software and security company Qest Development, launched a platform this November that aims to give volunteers the ability to determine the validity of votes cast in the 2020 election, VICE News reports.

The platform, called Polaris Recount, allows anyone to sign up and become a "citizen adjudicator" who can look at digital images of votes cast in the election and determine if they're legitimate based on minor smudges, errant fold lines, and other alleged irregularities. While digital ballot images are routinely reviewed by automated software, Polaris hands the process over to amateur sleuths trying to find proof of the kind of mass voter fraud conspiracy theories disseminated by former President Donald Trump and his allies.

Trump 'seriously thinking about 2024' -- but there's something that could scare him away from running

Donald Trump is sending plenty of signals that he intends to run for re-election in 2024, according to associates, but only if he believes he would win.

The twice-impeached one-term president has raised more than $100 million in cash and gained new focus on his political activity, in marked contrast to the "chaos" that marked the first weeks after leaving the White House, and his allies say Trump would be almost certain to challenge Joe Biden to a rematch if his loyalists are elected in the midterms, reported CNN.

Will false Trump electors’ attempt to hijack the Georgia vote be punished?

The 16 Georgia Republicans who assembled at noon on Dec. 14, 2020, in the state Capitol and falsely certified that Donald Trump had won the state’s electoral votes were not the nation’s only bogus electors. They made up just one of seven groups falsely claiming Trump was the victor in states where the majority of voters chose Joe Biden for president and Kamala Harris for vice president.

The six other states — Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin— joined Georgia in submitting documents to Congress certifying falsely that the majority of votes — and therefore the Electoral College votes — went to Trump.

The documents, all filed by Republicans for Trump, were brought to light through a Freedom of Information Act request by the D.C.-based watchdog group American Oversight, which requested all 2020 certificates of electoral votes that were not already published as the 2020 Electoral College Results.
